‘Monitor your credit card statements’: Bartram Park man warns of SunPass scam after online purchase

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Bartram Park man said he got random charges on his credit card after signing up for a sticker on SunPass’ website.

The man requested anonymity and said this experience is concerning because he’s not sure how his credit card information was stolen.

He said he got on the SunPass website to get a $15 SunPass and shortly after the purchase, he started getting alerts from a credit card he seldom uses.

“Minutes later my credit card company sends me a text saying ‘Did you spend $3 on something?’ Well, maybe that was SunPass. So I said yes. After 30 minutes went by then I get a $29, $39 charge from a gaming company. I Googled it and it was from China,” the man said.
