Vacant Florida Supreme Court seat draws 15 candidates
The Florida Supreme Court Judicial Nominating Commission (JNC) certified fifteen candidates on Tuesday, setting the stage for Gov. Ron DeSantis to appoint his fifth judge to the state’s highest court.
The JNC has announced that it will be interviewing all fifteen candidates in Orlando on May 3 as part of the selection process. Following the interviews, the JNC will recommend no fewer than three and no more than six applicants to DeSantis for his consideration, where he will then have sixty days to appoint a judge from the selection of nominees.
