Florida Bar selects new president-elect designate, set to take over in 2024

Attorney Roland Sanchez-Medina, Jr. of Miami was named president-elect designate of The Florida Bar last weekend after being elected without opposition.

According to the Florida Bar, Sanchez-Medina, a long-time member of the Florida Bar Board of Governors and a former leader of the Cuban American Bar Association, will be sworn in as president-elect on June 23 at the Annual Florida Bar Convention, when the current president-elect F. Scott Westheimer assumes the presidency.

After Westheimer replaces outgoing President Gary Lesser at the annual convention in June, Sanchez-Medina will work in a next-in-line role through Jun. 2024, when he will begin his one-year tenure as Bar president.
