Lauren Book to be designated anew as Democratic Leader
Sen. Lauren Book will be redesignated as Democratic Minority Leader in a special ceremony at the Florida Senate. The Davie Democrat expects to lead the caucus for the 2022-2024 legislative term.
The event should begin at 1 p.m. today, Nov. 21, in the Florida Senate Chamber. Those in attendance will include former Senate Democratic Leader Oscar Braynon of Miami Gardens, former Sen. Bill Montford of Tallahassee, Parkland parent and gun safety advocate Fred Guttenberg, gun safety advocate Romania Dukes, members of the Florida Highway Patrol Color Guard and children from Tallahassee’s Making Light Productions.
