Punta Gorda man fires shotgun from pickup truck while terrorizing three teens
PUNTA GORDA, Fla. – The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man after they say he approached several juveniles in his pickup truck before spewing vulgarities and firing a shotgun at them.
According to CCSO, Steven Whitney, 44, was driving in his red Dodge pickup near the Ranchettes on Thursday, when he suddenly approached three teenagers in their car. Whitney would exit his vehicle with a shotgun in hand and began cursing at the kids.
The three frantic teenagers took off and began driving from Whitney. At one point, the trio drove into oncoming traffic at Duncan Road and Bermont Road in an effort to elude Whitney.
