Jimmy Patronis asks Florida Bar to disbar 'unethical' property insurance lawyers

Ahead of next week’s Special Session on property insurance, Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis is calling on the Florida Bar to disbar lawyers he says are unethically defrauding homeowner insurance policyholders.

Earlier this month, Citizens Property Insurance Corporation received $1 million in a settlement with three firms the state-operated insurance agency accused of artificially inflating the severity of insured damage. In the letter, sent Wednesday to Florida Bar Executive Director Joshua Doyle, the Panama City Republican accused “unethical law firms” of defrauding Floridians of millions and called on the Bar to take action.
