Florida man accused of stealing $30K worth of turtles: report

A Florida man is accused of stealing 18 turtles worth $30,000.

On Monday, Jermaine Wofford allegedly stole the turtles from a Southwest Florida turtle breeder, WINK News reported.

Marcus Cantos, the owner of Turtle Source, said Wofford was supposed to be fixing a beverage cooler, but when a turtle named “Huncy” went missing, he decided to check the surveillance footage.

“The camera is right up here, not hard to see, and the guy looked right in the camera, and that’s how the sheriff’s department was able to use the facial recognition, and he was just helping himself to all of these,” said Cantos to WINK News.
